First time starter Aventura proved much the best in her debut outing in official competition, sprinting away from the rest of the field of talented 2 year-olds by a comfortable 6 lengths.
Libertad (Sicotico – Sunset Thomas, by Dixie Union) broke best of all and held a 1-length lead over the winner until Aventura joined her to clock 24.2 for the first 400 meters. Aventura maintained control without urging and sprinted well clear to draw off by over 6 lengths and complete the 1000 meter race in 1:02.5.
Libertad was well clear for second place, with Pintor (Rationalexuberance – La Pintora, by Favorite Band) completing the Rancho San Antonio trifecta.
The 2yo roan filly is a daughter of RSA’s Leading DR sire Blueformer out the RSA bred mare Semblanza. She was bred by Osiris Bautista’s Haras Moises and races for the stable of the same name. Osiris Bautista has boarded his fine broodmare band at Rancho San Antonio for several years and this is the first winner in the name of Haras Moises. The filly was guided to victory by Victor Severino and is trained by Cleve O. Perez.
Aventura is the product of 3 generations of RSA breeding. Her dam Semblanza (by Favorite Band) was Champion 2 & 3 year-old filly and Champion Older Mare. Her grand-dam, Champion 2 and 3 year-old filly Que Sera Sera, was the winner of the Clasico Matias Ramon Mella-G1 (1st race of the DR Triple Crown), and is a daughter of RSA foundation stallion Crazy Boy (Amboy ex Loquilla, by Marchons II).
