3yo filly Gotica de Miel took advantage of the hurried pace imposed race favorite Panelista, to display a fantastic stretch run to claim victory on January 26th in the Copa Dia de Duarte-G3, the main event of the 6 race card presented at the Hipodromo V Centenario.
Thus the daughter of Tango Tales and Odalsi, ridden brilliantly by Victor Severino, won the best part of a prize of RD $ 160.600 pesos distributed at the event and added another stakes victory to her resume after wining the G1 Clasico de Criadores last November.
The Establo Mieses 3-year old trained by Cleve O. Perez stopped the clock 1.49 flat in her first 2 turn race (1700 m). With this win Gotica de Miel notches her fifth win in 9 lifetime appearances, with 1 second place finish and 3 thirds.
After an uncomfortable trip due to the ridiculous fractions set by rider Luis Jimenez, Panelista (
Sicótico) had to settle for second place at the event, while the emerging colt Tempestad (
Sicótico) settled for 3
rd, and Ansiosa (
Sicótico) completed the Rancho San Antonio superfecta.
