RSA bred and sold Marvelous Queen returned to her winning ways to take the 20th running of the G2 Clásico Día de las Madres. The game filly that represents the red and white silks of the Establo La Aurora is owned by a partnership of Ramon and Ricardo Contreras, Cesar Prieto and Angel Contreras (co-owner of RSA).

After a slow break, the Dominican bred daughter of Daaher out of the Gone West mare Hazimah, took control a few strides after the quarter pole with fractions of 22 4/5, 45 4/5, 1:10 2/5 a stopped the clock in 1:23 4/5 in a hand ride, besting her nearest rival by over 8 lengths under the guidance of jockey Jose Ventura. Caribbean Horseracing Hall of Fame trainer Eugenio Deschamps and Juan Jimenez train the filly.

Marvelous Queen is the second stakes winner for her dam. Her half-sister Elghayoor was a winner of the Cicada and Dearly Precious stakes in USA for her Shadwell Farm connections and trainer Kiaran Mc Laughlin.

The win also added a historical note since it gives her breeders Rancho San Antonio the lead in wins in the prestigious Clasico Dia de las Madres-G2. A total of 5 RSA bred mares have now won the event: Carta Blanca in 2005 (by Carlo Alberto), Fashionista in 2010 (by Klondike Pete), Daniela Sofia in 2011 (by Blueformer), Sweet Daughter in 2014 (by Rationalexuberance) and Marvelous Queen in 2015 (by Daaher).
