The Rancho San Antonio Racing festival kicks off this weekend with 5th running of the Clásico Angel R. Contreras Mejia - G1 that will be run at the Hipodromo V Centenario at a distance of 1,200 meters. The competitive race will be contested by seven 2 year old colts and fillies and will feature the much anticipated rematch between the undefeated Nelson G. (Codasco) and the talented Amoroso (Sicótico). A purse of over DOP $300,000 is to be disputed and 3 auction bonuses of DOP $50,000 will be given to the owners of the first 3 finishers. The 5 races of the undercard will have trophies and added prizes presented by co-sponsors Los Establos de Cap Cana, Veterinaria Santanita, Albaca, Osiris y Cia., and La Rinconada.
21 Yearlings will be offered at the Rancho San Antonio 2013 Yearling Sale on November 10th. The sale is set to begin at 12:00 pm. 16 sons and daughters from the second crop of Caribbean Champion Sicótico (Blueformer) will be offered as well as progeny of Blueformer (Dynaformer), Tango Tales (Tale of the Cat), Incomunicato (Cartofel), Wild Champion (Wild Again) and Giant Basil (Giant's Causeway).
